Jonah Montes

Jonah began practicing yoga at the age of 16, developing an early appreciation: for both the physical discipline and the introspective depth of the practice. After graduating high school, he completed his first 200-hour certification at CorePower Yoga in the winter of 2014 and began teaching shortly thereafter.

In 2015, Jonah joined Be The Change Yoga—Orange County’s only Yoga Therapy Wellness Center—where he retook his 200-hour training with a deeper focus on restorative yoga and sound healing.

This experience broadened his understanding of yoga beyond athletic movement, shaping his ability to teach both dynamic strength-based classes and therapeutic, accessible formats.

He earned his 500-hour certification at Yoga Shakti in the summer of 2021 and has since built a diverse teaching career across Orange County, leading classes and workshops in Irvine, Tustin, Lake Forest, Foothill Ranch, and Newport Beach. His current schedule reflects his versatility: from heated Power Yoga and Sculpt to Yogalates, Chair Yoga, beginner-focused Yoga 101, restorative sound baths, and cancer-care supportive classes.

Jonah’s teaching style bridges strength and accessibility. He is known for clear alignment cues, thoughtful sequencing, and an ability to adapt his approach to meet students where they are—whether in an early-morning power flow or a quiet therapeutic setting.

Outside the studio, Jonah is an artist at heart. He enjoys cooking and baking (having catered for yoga retreats in Hawaii in the past), is a natural talent with ceramics and pottery, and spends the Halloween season scareacting at a popular theme park.
